It’s good to remember those who’ve left something behind for us and to remember that we too are leaving something behind.
Softball season is beginning and our team is in need of new jerseys. In effort to raise funds, we are selling Central shirts for $10. Funds raised will go to cover the teams shirts and, if there is enough left over, purchase a new bat. Sizes available are Youth Medium, Adult Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and XX-Large. Place your order filling out the form below or by filling out the order form in the Welcome Center at the downtown campus. Orders must be placed and paid for by Sunday, June 12th. You can make checks payable to Central Baptist Church and put softball shirt in the memo line.
You can find our schedule on our calendar if you’d like to come out and watch some games. Thanks for your support!

We’ll be adding posts on this page that help us to process the topics that we’re thinking about together.
The Sangamon County Fair will be held June 15 through 19 this year. Our New Berlin campus is located immediately to the north of the Sangamon County Fairgrounds. Each year, we provide parking for the fair on the church grounds and raise money to further God’s work through Central. To make this run smoothly we need many volunteers. You don’t need to have any particular expertise and any amount of time you could give would be great!
If you are interested in volunteering, let us know by filling out the form below:

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, . . .” Matthew 25:34-35a
Each Wednesday Night that we meet for dinner, 32 extra meals are prepared to feed the homeless women and children staying in the Contact Ministries shelter. When a month has five Wednesdays, on the fifth Wednesday, an additional 32 meals are prepared for the adult men and women’s shelter, Helping Hands.
When we do not have a Wednesday Night Dinner, the meals still need to be prepared and delivered to the shelters. We will not be serving Wednesday night meals during the months of June, July and August, with the exception of July 20, and need your help for those Wednesday nights. Will you, your family, your Sunday School class, or small group help feed the homeless?
The dates meals need to be prepared and delivered are: June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; July 6, 13, 21; and August 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. An extra 32 meals are needed on June 29 and August 31, which are the fifth Wednesdays in June and August.
If you would like to help but find yourself financially challenged at this time, the benevolence budget has sufficient financial resources for this ministry. Your family or group can be reimbursed to the amount of $75 per week if you could prepare and deliver the meals to the shelter.
If you need more information or can help with this ministry, please contact Carol Volle (you can get her contact information from the front office 217.523.3639).
As a church family at Central we support the food pantry located at Kumler Neighborhood Ministries, 5th and Carpenter. Paul and Judy Thompson, two of our members, transport the food items we donate.
Each month we will collect a different item(s) for the food collection containers so that we will continue to show our love for God and people in serving our community.
During October we are collecting Applesauce and other canned fruits.
