Call to Worship
God calls us to worship, and we come,
some with laughter and songs of joy.
some from a sense of obligation or habit.
some with hearts heavy with grief.
some with distraction or exhaustion.
some with eagerness and enthusiasm.
some with stress, loneliness, or depression.
As God’s dearly loved children,
we bring all our joy and pain, hurt and hope
into this time of Spirit-given grace, love, and hope.
Let’s worship God!
Let us receive and respond to God’s word today.
In the name of the God of abundant life, may this blessing be yours:
That in the seasons of plenty you will thrive and grow.
That in the seasons of drought you will consolidate your strength.
That you will delight in the warm sun of God shining upon you.
That you will delight in the cold rain of God falling on you.
That you will blossom to the glory of God and make the world a more fragrant place.
That you will give shelter to those who seek refuge from storm or fierce heat.
That you may never forget whose tree you really are and whose life you share.Amen!adapted from a blessing.
