Central Baptist exists as a church to love God, love people, and serve the world. We have a rich history in Central Illinois (Link courtesy of Sangamon County Historical Society).
We love God by placing a priority on public worship and spending intentional time with God on a daily basis. Our Sunday worship services are at 10:45 AM in Springfield and 9:00 AM in New Berlin.
We love people by building redemptive relationships in group Bible study and with our neighbors. These Bible studies include small groups of 8 to 20 people who meet once a week in Sunday School classes. During the Pandemic, these classes meet by Zoom at various times on Sunday morning.
We serve the world in Christ’s name by meeting the needs of people in our church, our neighborhood, and our world. We work together as the larger church group to donate food to food pantries, volunteer at Graham School Library during the school year, provide school supplies and meals to local families in need, financially support local charities and non-profit organizations, and support international projects and missionaries.
We believe God planted Central Baptist Church in Springfield and New Berlin for the benefit of our cities. Because He loves, we love. Because He gives, we give. We are on mission to invest time, energy, prayer, resources, and love into our communities to make Springfield and New Berlin all they can be – for the glory of God and for the good of humanity. It is our hope and prayer that as we do this, Jesus’ love will be seen and people will develop a relationship with Him.
